UNITED KINGDOM Zena Peters delivers ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’—a gothic mystery steeped in longing, betrayal and the shadows of memory. When Sarah Chisholm’s father dies under tragic and suspicious circumstances, she lays the blame at the feet of the beguiling Baroness Ria Van Dan Brecht. But as Sarah’s quest for justice transforms into a dangerous obsession, the shadows of Ravensbridge House close in around her, both in her waking hours and in her dreams.

Sarah’s nights are haunted by a faceless man who dances with her under the moonlight, drawing her deeper into a realm where the lines between dream and reality begin to fray. Her days, meanwhile, are driven by revenge—a delicate plot that could collapse at any moment. But as she deceives the man she loves and attracts the attention of those with darker motives, including the ruthless Peter Hogan, Sarah finds herself on the edge of emotional and spiritual collapse. Her only solace comes in the form of a mysterious girl—one who may not be real, and whose presence signals a past that refuses to stay buried.

Synopsis:
When Sarah Chisholm’s father, John, dies, Sarah holds the Baroness Ria Van Dan Brecht responsible. As the former gardener of the magnificent Jacobean mansion Ravensbridge House, John Chisholm did his best to resist the overpowering charms of the Baroness Ria Van Dan Brecht, but to no avail. The Baroness’s charms led him into a world of lies and deceit that ultimately took his life, and not only his life but the world of Jenny Chisholm, Sarah’s mother, comes crashing down.

Sarah wants revenge, and nothing is going to stop her. She formulates a dangerous and fragile plan that could go wrong any minute.
Her unwavering and determined spirit urges her on, but she could lose everything. Including the love of a man, she has fallen desperately in love with but will ultimately deceive.

Sarah’s nights are restless; a faceless man dances with her in her dreams. They dance, gripped by the brightness of the moon and the familiar haunting music that spins her ever deeper into a whirlpool of dangerous and unknown occurrences.
Sarah’s desperation to put a face to the man in her dreams leads her into a tighter web of lies and deception that not even she is prepared for. But worse is to come. Peter Hogan, Trent Benhails’s best friend, discovers Sarah’s secret and decides to use it for his own ends, sending Sarah into a whirl of shock and fear.
A young girl appears to Sarah, but Sarah doesn’t know that her new friend is part of a dark and dormant mystery about to rock her to her very core.

“This book grew from a fascination with the way grief alters not only our hearts, but our perception of justice, love, and even reality itself,” says Zena Peters.

Continuing, “I wanted to write a character who was willing to walk into the fire of her past, not realising she would be consumed by it. Sarah is guided by fury, but also by longing—longing for her father, for closure, for a love that won’t betray her. That’s what makes this story so personal. It’s not just about ghosts in the hallways—it’s about the ghosts we carry inside us, and how far we’re willing to go to silence or redeem them.”

Elegant, eerie and emotionally riveting, ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ is a beautifully layered novel that will appeal to fans of romantic thrillers, historical suspense, and complex mysteries. With prose that shimmers as much as it cuts, Zena Peters delivers a gripping exploration of how easily love and vengeance can become entwined—and what happens when buried truths demand to be unearthed. Atmospheric and unforgettable, this is gothic fiction at its most beguiling.
